The  other  day,  I  bought  (and  mostly  read)  a  book  on  how  to  create  “viral  videos”  –  videos  posted  on  the  web  that  anyone  can  access.  

According  to  the  author,  people  truly  engage  with  the  videos  they  are  watching.  As  a  psychologist,  I  know  that  videos  activate  different  parts  of  the  brain  than  writing  does.   Interested  to  see  how  the  process  works,  I  created  a  few  videos  that  I  posted  on  YouTube.

  I  was  surprised  at  how  different  it  is  to  communicate  when  speaking  to  an  audience,  as  opposed  to  writing  to  an  audience.   It  is  totally  different  medium  than  I’m  accustomed  to,  but  I’m  getting  more  comfortably  with  it.    

Because  I  believe  so  strongly  that  artisan  jewelry  buyers  are  seeking  a  connection  with  the  artist,  online  videos  seem  to  offer  a  warm  and  inviting  personal  connection  with  the  people  you  are  trying  to  reach  with  your  message  and  your  jewelry.
