About Dr. Weiman
Dr. David Weiman is an expert on the psychology of marketing and selling jewelry.
He is the third generation of Weiman’s in the jewelry business. His grandfather, David Weiman, founded the small jewelry chain Weiman’s for Diamonds that had several locations in Philadelphia. His father owned and managed the stores until changing careers to become an attorney.
Since 1986, David has been the marketing director of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist magazine, Colored Stone magazine, Step-By-Step Beads, and Step-By-Step Wire Jewelry, as well as all of their associated websites and educational/retail events.
Prior to that, David was a marketing executive for all of the Wendy’s restaurants in southern New Jersey, and was the youngest marketing director among Wendy’s franchisees in the country.
David earned a Bachelor’s in Religion from Dickinson College in 1985. In 1991, he earned a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned another Master’s and a Doctorate in psychology from Widener University in 1997.
David has been a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania since 1998.
Through survey research, countless discussions, and direct coaching of jewelry makers and retail jewelers, David has established a reputation as the field’s ONLY expert in the psychology of marketing and selling handcrafted jewelry.
